Dirty hair, don’t care.. because we all know a good dry shampoo will save the day! From absorbing excess oil and extending time between washings & giving hair more texture for styling.. we love a quick, easy and effective nontoxic option!

I’ve been using this recipe for over 2 years – it’s completely customizable and works for any hair color & type. If you have lighter-colored hair, add less cocoa or no cocoa at all. If you have darker hair, add more cocoa.

I fall in between blonde-brunette and often forget to add cocoa – it absorbs well and doesn’t leave leftover white powder on my scalp.

I also add essential oils that are known for their healthy growth & hair-loving properties.

DIY DRY SHAMPOO
ingredients:
4 tbsp Cornstarch
2 tbsp Arrowroot powder
1-4 tbsp cocoa powder (depending on hair color)
1 drop Rosemary essential oil
1 drop Cedarwood essential oil
1 drop Lavender essential oil

In a glass mixing bowl, combine ingredients. Mix well with a fork. Can also use a food processor or coffee grinder to combine powders + oils.
If you don’t have one or two of the oils listed, just omit it.

Grab a funnel & glass container of choice with a lid – I use an old spice jar. Fill jar, label & you’re all set!

To use, I put a little powder in my hands, rub them together then run my hands over areas prone to extra oil between washes. Let sit 2-3 mins then brush through. so easy!
